DET#n ignition failed [Error Code:4203 4204 4205 4206]
Cause¶
FID or FPD ignition failed.
Check the following items.
- Detector gas flow rate
- Detector temperature
- Column connection
- FID jet clogging (in the case of FID)
- Filament in Igniter
If the error appears repeatedly even after checking the above, turn off the main power of the instrument, stop gas supply, and contact your Shimadzu sales/service representative.
Solution¶
Detector gas flow rate¶
Press HOME button - [Detector] button on GC instrument monitor (HOME) and display the folloeing screen. Make sure that the detector gas is properly supplied during the ignition operation.
If multiple detectors are registered in the line, press the tab to switch the detector display, or press [LINE] at the top right of the screen to switch the line.
* The upper row is the measured value, and the lower row is the set value.
Check the standard detector gas flow rate in the following table.

Detector temperature¶
Set the detector temperature to 200 °C or higher (since ignition may be difficult at low detector temperature).
Press HOME button - [Detector] button on GC instrument monitor (HOME) and display the folloeing screen.
If multiple detectors are registered in the line, press the tab to switch the detector display, or press [LINE] at the top right of the screen to switch the line.
Column connection¶
The column is connected and the column insertion length is appropriate.
