Procedures

Step 1

Stop the instrument. Then, on the instrument monitor or workstation, check that the temperature of the column oven is lower than 40 °C, check that the temperatures of the injection port and detector are 50 °C or lower, and check that the gas supply is stopped and there is no residual pressure.

Step 2

Install the SUS column adapter for INJ (⑤) on the insert for SINJ (④).

Step 3

Pull the column oven door latch toward you to open the column oven door.

Step 4

Install the SUS column adapter for INJ (⑤) on the injection port.

  1. Insert the SUS column adapter for INJ (⑤) together with the glass insert into the injection port.

  1. Turn the nut clockwise by hand to tighten it.

  1. Tighten it about 1/2 turn with a 6x8 spanner (②).

Note

When removing the SUS column adapter, the glass insert comes down together with the SUS column adapter. Caution should be exercised to prevent the glass insert from falling down.

Step 5

Install the SUS column adapter for DET (⑥) on the detector side.

  1. Insert the SUS column adapter for DET (⑥) into the detector side.

  1. Tighten the nut by hand, and then tighten it about 1/2 turn with a 10x12 spanner (①) to fix the nut.

Step 6

Place gaskets (⑦ or ⑧) in the connections between the SUS column and the SUS column adapter (⑤, ⑥) (two places), and install the SUS column on the adapter.

Use the column gasket, silicone (⑦).

Insert one gasket and tighten the GM type nut by hand.

Use the column gasket, aluminum (⑧).

Insert two or three gaskets using tweezers and tighten the GM type nut by hand.

Step 7

Tighten and fix the connections between the SUS column and the SUS column adapter (⑤, ⑥) (two places) with a spanner (① or ②).
