Procedures¶
Step 1¶
GC-2060¶
Open the INJ cover (★1).
Step 2¶
Turn the liner fixing nut (★2) counterclockwise by hand to remove it.
Step 3¶
Lift the injection port (★3) slowly.
To prevent damage to the liner, lift the injection port straight up slowly with your left hand.
Step 4¶
Use tweezers (①) to pull out the old liner (②).
Be careful not to damage the O-ring seating surface of the sample injection port.
Using the removal tool (④) makes it easy to pull out.
Step 5¶
Attach the O-ring (③) to the new liner (②).
-
Temporarily fix the O-ring about 4 mm from the top of the liner, set it into the sample injection port, and press it down with tweezers until it reaches the bottom.
-
The standard accessory liner comes pre-packed with silica wool at the specified position. When using a liner without pre-packed silica wool, pack silica wool according to Guide for Packing Position of Silica Wool .
Step 6¶
Install the liner (②) into the injection inlet.
Press it down with tweezers until it reaches the bottom.
Step 7¶
Install the liner fixing nut (★2) so that it meshes securely with the groove of the injection port, and turn it clockwise to fix it.
Fix the protrusion of the liner fixing nut (★4) into the hole of the MMI cover (★5) before turning the nut to make tightening easier.
Do not overtighten the nut as this may cause the O-ring to be pushed inward, making it impossible to remove the liner.
When setting the MMI cooling to below -50°C using liquid nitrogen, use the spacer (⑤) and tighten the nut further.
Step 8¶
Close the INJ cover.
Step 9¶
Exit maintenance mode using the following procedure according to the relevant instrument, and reset the consumable usage counter.
