Entering Maintenance Mode (with Maintenance Button)
The GC-2050 can be switched to maintenance mode only by using the maintenance button on the instrument. (Easy sTop function)
Procedures (Entering Maintenance Mode)¶
Check the status of the indicator (①) and press the [Maint.] button (②) as described in the procedure below.

Step 1¶
Press the [Maint.] button on the instrument.
The cooling for the injection port and oven starts. The indicator lights up in yellow.
The indicator blinks one time only to indicate that the cooling has started. To stop cooling, press the [STOP] button on the instrument main unit.
Step 2¶
If the indicator blinks in yellow, press the [Maint.] button on the instrument to stop the carrier gas. Yellow blinking indicates that cooling is complete.

This step is not performed if [Carrier Gas Stop] is set to [Auto]. The instrument automatically enters maintenance mode.

When using GCMS, please set [Carrier Gas Stop] to [Manual].
Step 3¶
When the indicator blinks in green, the transition to maintenance mode is complete.
Green blinking indicates that the carrier gas is stopped. The septum and insert can then be replaced. For details on the replacement procedure, see the following:
Procedures (Exiting Maintenance Mode)¶
Check the status of the indicator (①) and press the [Maint.] button (②) as described in the procedure below.

No leak check is performed if the carrier gas for GCMS is nitrogen.

When using GCMS-QP2050, check for leakage from the intensity ratio of m/z 69(PFTBA) and m/z 28(Air) monitored by MS. The criteria can be changed by launching the [Analysis] program and clicking on [Main] assistant bar > [System Configuration] > [MS] Properties > [Test Values of System Check/Auto Tuning] > [System Check]Tab > [Vacuum Leak(Intensity Ratio of 69/28)].
When [Leak Check] is set to [On]¶
Step 1¶
Press the [Maint.] button on the instrument.
The leak check is performed. The indicator lights up in yellow during the leak check.

If the leak check passes, the instrument exits maintenance mode and performs setup to resume original state. See Step 5 and reset the number of uses for the replaced consumables.

If the instrument fails the leak check, the indicator blinks in red.
Proceed to Step 2 and enter maintenance mode. -
To stop the leak check and exit the maintenance mode, press the [STOP] button on the instrument main unit.

Even if the leak check result is "Fail," you can exit the maintenance mode by pressing the [STOP] button on the main unit.
Step 2¶
If the indicator blinks in red, press the [Maint.] button on the instrument.
Red blinking indicates that carrier gas is flowing.
Press the [Maint.] button to stop the carrier gas and enter maintenance mode.
Step 3¶
When the indicator blinks in green, the transition to maintenance mode is complete.
Check the connections at the locations where maintenance was performed.
Step 4¶
After checking the locations where maintenance was performed, press the [Maint.] button on the instrument.
The indicator lights up in yellow and the leak check starts. If the leak check passes, the instrument exits maintenance mode and performs setup to resume original state. After the carrier gas flows for a specified amount of time, the temperature control for the injection port and oven resumes.
Step 5¶
From the workstation, reset the number of uses for the replaced consumables.

When [Leak Check] is set to [Off]¶
Step 1¶
Press the [Maint.] button on the instrument.
The instrument exits maintenance mode and performs setup to resume original state. The indicator lights up in yellow, and the temperature control for the injection port and oven resumes after the carrier gas flows for a specified amount of time.
Step 2¶
From the workstation, reset the number of uses for the replaced consumables.
