Procedures¶
Step 1¶
Check that the vial does not have any fine cracks or damage.
In particular, check the vial neck part where the cap is installed.
If there are any cracks or damage, the airtightness of the vial will be impaired and proper analysis results cannot be obtained.
Step 2¶
After placing the sample in the vial, place the vial cap on the vial as shown below.
Step 3¶
Use a crimper to tighten the vial cap. An example of a manual crimper is shown below.
For instructions on how to use the crimper, refer to the instruction manual for the crimper.
Since vials are glass products, take care to avoid injury due to broken glass.
Step 4¶
Check that the cap is crimped with the appropriate strength.
- Check that the cap is neatly crimped all the way down to the bottom side of the vial neck.
Also, check that the cap cannot be turned easily by hand. If it can be turned easily by hand, increase the crimp strength. - Check the shape of the cap. If there is an indentation on the side of the cap, decrease the crimp strength.
