Procedures¶
Since a high-temperature cap will be exposed to a high temperature, the cap may leak if tightened in the same way as the pressure-release type.
A high-temperature cap must be sealed more tightly than the pressure-release type.
The crimper must be adjusted according to the type of vial cap (e.g. pressure-release cap, high-temperature cap).
Step 1¶
Before trying on samples, check the crimper operation first with an empty vial according to
Crimping a Vial Cap
.
If there is no problem found with the crimper operation, the following crimper adjustment steps can be omitted.
Step 2-1¶
When using a manual crimper such as the type shown below
-
If the crimp is too weak, use a hex wrench to adjust the crimper.
Turn the adjustment screw to the left as shown in the bottom image on the left.
-
If the crimp is too strong, use a hex wrench to adjust the crimper.
Turn the adjustment screw to the right.
When changing from the pressure-release vial cap to the high-temperature vial cap
Using a hex wrench, turn the crimper adjustment screw once to the left from the position for the pressurerelease vial cap.
