Procedures¶
Step 1¶
On the instrument monitor or workstation, check that the temperature of the column oven is lower than 40 °C, and check that the temperatures of the injection port and detector are 50 °C or lower.
After checking the temperatures, turn OFF the main power to the instrument.
Step 2¶
Remove the column installed on FID.
Step 3¶
Open INJ/DET cover.
Step 4¶
Remove the screw fixing the clamp for high voltage cable, and remove the clamp.
Step 5¶
Loosen the screw on the near side of the collector holding hardware.
You do not need to remove the screws.
Step 6¶
Remove the screw on the far side of the collector holding hardware.
Step 7¶
Slide the collector holding hardware clockwise.
Step 8¶
Raise the collector (③) to remove it.
Step 9¶
Remove the connector of the signal code.
Step 10¶
Raise the sheet metal fixing the high voltage electrode to remove it.
Step 11¶
Pull out the high voltage electrode (④).
If the high voltage electrode is contaminated, clean it. For cleaning, use a cotton swab or a soft brush moistened with organic solvent (acetone, hexane, etc.).
When there is terrible dirt or rust, replace the high voltage electrode.
To replace the high voltage electrode, remove the connector (on the front of the instrument) of the high voltage cable (white).
Step 12¶
Loosen FID jet with a hexnut screwdriver (②).
Step 13¶
Remove FID jet with a tweezer.

Step 14¶
Install Jetanizer(⑪).
Step 15¶
Tighten it until it is fixed securely with a hexnut screwdriver (②).
Step 16¶
Install the high voltage electrode (④).
Step 17¶
Install the sheet metal fixing the high voltage electrode.
Hook the sheet metal on the end of the spring, and push it for installation.
Step 18¶
Install the connector of the signal code.
Step 19¶
Install the collector (③).
Step 20¶
Return the collector holding hardware to the original position and install 2 screws.
Step 21¶
Install the clamp for high voltage cable, and fix the high voltage cable.
Step 22¶
Close INJ/DET cover.
When using Jetanizer, set the detector temperature to 400°C.
When installing and using a Jetanizer for the first time, bake it at 450°C for 1 hour before use.
The column insertion length is 45 mm, which is different from FID.
