Procedures¶
Step 1¶
On the instrument monitor or workstation, check that the temperature of the column oven is lower than 40 °C, and check that the temperatures of the injection port and detector are 50 °C or lower.
After checking the temperatures, turn OFF the main power to the instrument.
Step 2¶
Open INJ/DET cover.
Step 3¶
When using the photomul purge kit, disconnect the photomultiplier and the flow controller connector.
Step 4¶
Loosen 2 screws which connect the photomultiplier and the igniter.
Step 5¶
Remove photomultiplier.
Provide light shielding (aluminum foil, etc.) for photoreceptor of photomultiplier to prevent strong light from reaching it as possible.
Step 6¶
Remove O-ring.
Step 7¶
Remove interference filter.
Step 8¶
Check filter surface for dirt.
When filter surface is dirty, wipe it with a soft cloth, etc.
Step 9¶
Install interference filter and then O-ring on photomultiplier.
There is a step height on the filter housing. Install it placing the side with the smaller diameter on the photomultiplier case.
Step 10¶
Fix 2 screws on photomultiplier temporarily.
Step 11¶
Connect photomultiplier with igniter, fix it securely with screws.
Step 12¶
When using the photomul purge kit, install the photomultiplier and the flow controller connector.
Step 13¶
Close INJ/DET cover.
