Sampler Teaching

Note

Before using the auto sampler, the position of sample vial handover to the auto injector must be adjusted (sampler teaching).
Be sure to perform sampler teaching when you have changed the position of the auto sampler or changed the vial type.

Setting the Destination

Step 1

Press HOME button - [AOC] - [Sampler Teaching], and then [Move].
The [Sampler Teaching] screen appears.

Step 2

Set [Teaching Target].

Preparing the Teaching Vial

Step 1

Place the vial for teaching in the teaching position.

Note
  • Use the same vial as the vial to be used for the actual analysis.

  • Place the vial after the turret has stopped rotating.

If [Teaching Target] is [AOC-M] or [AOC-S], place the vial at the handover position on the turret according to the vial type (hole labeled 'L1').

If [Teaching Target] is [Barcode], place the vial in the two-dimensional code reader.

Note

If the dimensions or the shape of the cap significantly differs between vials with the same capacity, perform teaching again.

Step 2

Press [Start] next to [Start Teaching].

Step 3

The following screen is displayed. Check the message and press [Continue].

[According to the value set in [Vial Type] on the [AOC Configuration] screen, the auto injector turret turns and prepares for teaching.

Sampler Teaching

Step 1

Adjust the arm position for rotation and extension motions.
Hold the auto sampler arm by hand and move it toward the teaching vial.

For the rotational motion, align the center line of the arm with that of the vial cap.

For the extension, align the center line of the gripper base with that of the vial cap.

Note

For the adjustment of the extension positioning, extend the arm past the target position and then contract it to the target position.

Step 2

Adjust the vertical position of the arm.

Do NOT move the arm in the vertical direction by hand.
Doing so may apply excessive load on the arm and result in damage.

Using [↑] and [↓] on the GC screen, move the arm up or down.

The arm keeps moving while a button is being pressed.
Adjust the arm so that the distance between the gripper base and the top surface of the vial cap is approximately 2 to 4 mm.

Step 3

Press [Run] next to [Complete Teaching].
The arm's gripper grips the teaching vial for gripper teaching.
Later, the arm moves to the home position on the auto sampler, completing the teaching.

Note

Do not press any other operation button or [STOP] on the GC main unit while the arm is moving.

The following screen appears when the teaching has finished. Press [Ok] to complete the teaching.

To continue the transport test, see Transport Test .

Hint

To stop the operation without running teaching, press

next to [Cancel Teaching].

Transport Test

You can run a transport test to check whether the teaching has been correctly performed.

Step 1

Press HOME button - [AOC] - [Sampler Vial Transport Test], and then [Move].
The [Sampler Vial Transport Test] screen appears.

Hint

This screen can also be displayed by pressing [Move] next to [Sampler Vial Transport Test] on the [Sampler Teaching] screen.

Step 2

Press [Run] next to [Preparing Vial for Transport].

Step 3

Set [L1].
Specify a position on the turret or two-dimensional code reader as the transport starting point or destination.

Step 4

Set the vial transport destination in [Sampler Vial No.].
Specify any sample vial number on the auto sampler as the transport starting point or destination.

Hint

To switch between [From] and [To], press [Switch].

Step 5

Place the vial in the position set in [From].

Hint

If [L1] is set to [AOC-M] or [AOC-S], place the vial in the corresponding injector handover position (L1).

Note

Do not place a vial in the position set in [To].

Step 6

Press [Start] next to [Start Transport].
The vial is transported between the teaching target and sample vial number according to the transport direction settings.
Check that the vial is correctly transported.
If the vial is not correctly transported, press the [RESET] button on the auto injector and redo the sampler teaching.

Note

Do not press any other operation button or [STOP] on the GC main unit while the arm is moving.
