Detector FTD-2014

Replacing the Collector


 

Tools Required

Phillips screwdriver, Flat screwdriver, 5.5x7 Wrench (standard FTD accessory), 1.5mm Allen wrench (standard FTD accessory)

Procedure

Shutdown the system and stop the gas supply for detectors..

Loosen the shield cover setscrew and pull out the shield cover.

Remove the teflon sheet. If the sheet is damaged replace it.

Loosen the FTD electrode holding screws and remove the holding plate.

Detach the FTD electrode.

Remove the collector cover.

Loosen the signal cable fixed nut with a wrench and remove the fixed nut and washer.

Detach the signal cable.

Loosen the collector fixed nut with the Allen wrench.

Detach the collector holder.

Pull out the FTD collector.

Set the flange of the new FTD collector to 19mm (21mm for the special type).

Attach the new collector to the FTD electrode and tighten the collector fixed nut with the Allen wrench.

Fit the signal cable, followed by the signal cable fixed nut and washer. Tighten it with the wrench. When doing so, the upper part of the collector must be secured using the flat screwdriver in order to prevent the filament from breaking.

Put back the collector cover.

Attach the teflon sheet to the signal and power cable.

Put back the shield cover by following the removal procedure in reverse.

Tighten the setscrew.

Start up the system.
