Replacing the Quartz Tube


 

Tools Required

Phillips screwdriver, tweezers

Procedure

Shutdown the system and stop the gas supply for detectors.

Loosen the knurled screw and remove the FPD cover.

Remove the 2 screws and detach the head section.

The alminum gasket needs to be replaced if it has either deteriorated or broken.

Pull out the quartz tube using tweezers. If dirty, it will either need to be cleaned or replaced.

Set either the new or cleaned quartz tube in place.

Put an alminum gasket and attach the head section on it. Tighten the 2 screws.

Put back the cover and tighten the knurled screw.

Start up the system.
