Maintenance works must only be undertaken after the temperature of each part has been lowered to less than 50 deg.C.
Place any detached items on a clean sheet or tray. Do not lose or contaminate these items.
Undertake the works using the appropriate tools. Any dirt on the tools being used must be wiped off in advance using gauze etc. dipped in acetone.
Do not remove the photomultiplier unit while the system is operating or the FPD is on as this may damage the photomultiplier.

Shutdown the system and stop the gas supply for detectors. |

Loosen the knurled screw and remove the FPD cover. |

Remove the 2 screws and remove the head section. |

Remove the 2 ignitor setscrews and remove the ignitor holder.

Slowly pull the ignitor filament out of the head section. |

The filament needs to be replaced if it has either deteriorated, or the wire has broken. Disconnect the connector on the ignitor cable if replacing the ignitor. Ignitor filament : 221-73430-93 |

Insert the ignitor filament into the head section. |

Attach the ignitor holder and fix in place using the 2 screws. |

Put an alminum gasket and attach the head section on it. Tighten the 2 screws. |

10 |
Put back the cover and tighten the knurled screw. |

11 |
Start up the system. |
