Replacing the Lens


 

Tools Required

Phillips screwdriver, tweezers

Procedure

Shutdown the system.

Remove the knurled screw on the top.

Slide the FPD top cover borad then remove it.

Slowly pull the photomultiplier unit out horizontally to remove it.

Cover the photomultiplier receiver with aluminum foil etc. to avoid exposure to intense light.

Remove the 2 screws and remove the head section.

Undo the 2 body section setscrews and detach the body section fixing plate.

Pull the body section out upwards.

Unscrew the cooling duct setscrew and remove the duct by pulling it apart.

Loosen the cooling fin fixed nut and remove.

Check the lens unit visually and, if dirty, either clean or replace it.

Also replace the O-ring of the lens unit if it has deteriorated.

Once the lens and O-ring have been set in place, tighten the nut by hand and attach the cooling fin.

Fit the duct from the front and back of the cooling fin and fix in place using the setscrew.

Insert the body section into the nozzle base.

Insert the body section fixing plate and fix in place using the 2 screws.

Attach the head section and fix in place using the 2 screws.

Put back the photomultiplier unit slowly.

Put back the top cover board and slide it to adjust the screw position.

Tighten the knurled screw with pulling the board to the left so that it fits on the photomultiplier unit.

Start up the system.

 

Note:
The cover board (P/N : 221-71795-91) has been modified since Apr. 2006 product (the previous model was in the shape of a flat borad).
